Who we are

Toneinux is a small software company placed in Tallinn, Estonia. This website, toneinux.com, describes the tool and lets you ask for a walkthrough. Anything on this page can be queried at [email protected], and the answer comes back in plain terms.

What the walkthrough form collects, and why

The form on the walkthrough page asks for your name, a work email address, the name your team goes by, two choices about where your sheet lives and how many people would read a board, and a message. We ask for these so that we can reply to the right person, choose a sample sheet that resembles yours, and offer sensible times for a call.

When you press send, the form is delivered to our mailbox by a form relay service, FormSubmit, whose address is the one the form posts to. The relay forwards what you typed to [email protected] and shows you a thank-you page on this site. We keep your message in that mailbox for as long as the enquiry is live and for a reasonable period afterwards, then delete it. No list is built from it, and nobody outside Toneinux receives it.

The form also carries a hidden field that stays empty for people and tends to be filled in by automated senders; it is used only to discard those and records nothing about you.

One switch, one key

No cookie is set by these pages themselves. On a first visit a small card offers one switch, analytics and performance, which starts off. Your answer is written as a single entry in the browser's local storage under the key tnx_consent_v1, which is how the card knows not to come back on that device. The entry records the answer and the moment it was given, nothing more.

At launch there are no analytics, no advertising tags and no third-party scripts installed on toneinux.com, so nothing on the site reads that entry today. Should measurement arrive later, only visitors who said yes will see it run, and this page changes before that happens. The only outside request a page makes is for its two typefaces, which are fetched from a font service when the page loads; that request carries your browser's ordinary connection details and no identifier set by us.

Wiping site data for toneinux.com in your browser removes the stored choice, and the card comes back on the next visit.

Things that never happen here

• Personal data is never sold, rented or traded, and never has been.
• We do not profile visitors or follow them across other websites.
• We do not place advertising, and no advertising network has a presence on this site.

Your rights under European law

A visitor inside the European Union, or the wider European Economic Area, holds a set of rights under the General Data Protection Regulation. With us those come to: asking what personal data is held about you and getting a copy; having a wrong entry corrected; having the data deleted; receiving what you gave us in a portable form; and objecting to, or restricting, a particular use. A complaint can also go to a supervisory authority, which for Toneinux means the data protection authority of Estonia.

Your rights under Californian law

A Californian resident can rely on four things under the California Consumer Privacy Act: learning what personal information has been collected and what it is used for; asking for it to be deleted; opting out of any sale of it, which here is moot because none takes place; and being treated no differently for having asked.

How to exercise them

Write to [email protected] from the address you gave us, or name that address in the message. The request is confirmed, carried out and answered within a month; an unusually involved one gets a date instead. None of this costs anything.

Changes to this page
